If you look in the mirror every day and wish something could be done about your stretch marks then it is reassuring to know that today’s technology can finally tackle them.
Those wavy lines that criss-cross your body in a neat pattern on the surface of the skin compete with veins and arteries to be noticed. They usually occur because your skin has stretched beyond its limit and lost its elasticity and the production of collagen has been disrupted. Losing elastin on top of the disruption of collagen production causes the skin to have stretch marks on the top layer of skin.
Stretch marks occur in women both men and women. The thighs, hips, butts and pregnant abdomens are common areas. They are often made worse by fast growth, pregnancy, hormones or weight loss or weight gain.
Cellulite is caused by the expansion of fat cells below the skin. When fat cells increase in size, the fat cells push upwards resulting in an uneven skin surface and creating cottage-cheese look through the skin. In addition the collagen bonds within where the fat cells are located and are stretched causing further unevenness to the skin’s surface.
Cellulite most commonly appears on the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. To determine the level of cellulite, you can first perform a pinch test. Pinch the skin of your outer thigh, buttocks or abdomen between your index finger and your thumb and look for dimpling. Cellulite is commonly classified in four stages:
Stage 0 is when no dimpling or orange peel is seen on the skin when you are standing.
Stage 1 is when no dimpling is seen on the skin when you are standing, but when you pinch your skin you have bumps and lumps.
Stage 2 is when you can see dimpling or orange peel appearance when standing, but not when you lie down.
Stage 3 is when you can see dimpling both when you are standing and lying down.
A course of Lipotripsy™ can greatly reduce the cellulite appearance whilst improve the overall health and look of your skin. Lipotripsy™ is Acoustic Wave Therapy which is a popular treatment for cellulite reduction. The treatment works by using acoustic sound waves that are generated and applied to the skin with a handheld device. The acoustic sound waves target the cellulite and stimulate the different skin layers to breakdown fat deposits, rejuvenate and tighten connective tissue.
